Now in its third week of release in theaters worldwide, A Minecraft Movie is set to compete directly with another Warner Bros. film, director Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. Both movies are expected to generate over $40 million apiece this weekend, with Sinners looking to blow past projections and deliver around $50 million in its first three days of release. That being said, A Minecraft Movieremains the biggest Hollywood hit of the year, and after grossing $6.5 million on its third Thursday, it became the first Hollywood film of the year to pass the $300 million mark domestically.
